I have experience across many sectors; in sales and marketing, training, as well as second language teaching. Whether it’s presentation skills, interpersonal communication, or technical writing, my main aim is to find dynamic ways to connect with each participant in order to help them realise their full potential."

For 10+ years, I have been applying user-experience principles to design and deliver in-person and virtual communication skills training.  I am privileged to work with learners in global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, energy, and insurance companies. As a client and content manager, I lead continuous-improvement cycles and advocate for learners' needs. I love to ask questions, listen, and capture details! Being process-driven as well as interested in feelings and behaviors helps me to create productive and enjoyable training experiences.

My main training focus is improving the readability of technical documents like Standard Operating Procedures and investigation reports. I help technical professionals simplify and clarify complex information to increase business impact.

Formerly, I served as a Communication Officer with UNICEF focused on international corporate alliances. My career started as a field and studio producer for a distance-learning healthcare network.

Hearing "cross-cultural communication," people often think of bridging differences in geography or ethnicity.

Having enjoyed teaching around the world, I've found that culture is so much more. I'm passionate about helping participants explore how their communication perspectives come from myriad influences: gender, education, generation, family, industry, organization, and department, to name a few.

Awareness of personal culture allows for more mindful and effective communication with others. I bring these themes into every session, from interpersonal to presentations to performance evaluation. I also incorporate them in every class I teach at diversity-rich universities.

With a focus on similarities and common goals, it's truly a small world.

As a facilitator and trainer, I often rely on my Drama background to help me make instant and meaningful connections to my audience.  I am also a keen listener and pride myself on being able to quickly understand what the client needs and how to best help each individual in the room. I am an insatiably curious Salvadoran woman who enjoys being outside her comfort zone. Having spent years working in international humanitarian aid, I am an optimist to the core. In fact, my personality type holds true to what my Myers & Briggs assessment indicated (ENFP) when I was 13 years old. As a social entrepreneur and co-founder of a non-profit, I have a deep respect for effective communication, which I believe can mobilize and transform both individuals and institutions. I believe that equipping human resource teams with the right management and communication skills can – almost immediately – take performance and effectiveness to a whole new level.

Communication is about making connections. Whether in our personal lives or professional lives, choosing what we say and how we say it affects all aspects of our relationships. We have the power to influence, inspire, inform, persuade, motivate, and move people with our verbal, written, and non-verbal communication.
